Iam Murda

Muhammad Ilham Mustain Murda, known as “Iam Murda,” is a versatile artist born and raised in Jayapura on April 15, 1985. From dance to directing, producing, and scriptwriting, Iam Murda has displayed dedication and courage in expressing himself through various art forms.

With a unique vision, Iam Murda has led various film projects from concept to screening on the big screen in Papua. His skill in leading production teams and creativity in scriptwriting have enriched Indonesian cinema with profound and meaningful works.

Not only active behind the scenes, Iam Murda also serves as a dance art lecturer at the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) in Tanah Papua, inspiring young generations to explore their artistic potential. As the founder of Freedom Squad and President of the Indonesia Art Movement (IAM), he advocates for freedom of expression and elevates the role of art as a tool to inspire positive social change.

Through various activities in Freedom Squad and IAM, Iam Murda and his colleagues create spaces for individuals to express themselves without being constrained by social or political boundaries. They also organize art events and advocacy campaigns to promote values such as tolerance, unity, and justice in society.

With a background as a graduate of the Jakarta Institute of the Arts, Iam Murda has gained a strong educational foundation in the field of art. His work has inspired and embraced diverse audiences, proving that art has the power to unite, inspire, and change the world.
